Spartan School <\/a>of Aeronautics, (Now referred to as the College of Aeronautics). After graduation I flew home to Iceland to find that there were no jobs available for a Rookie Technician. Again my luck changed and I found myself in Akureyri, working for Norlandair, at the time known as Flugf\u00e9lag Nor\u00f0urlands. My 3 years there where the foundation of my 40 year career, aided by the extraordinary tutelage of great persons, such as Mr. J\u00f3n Karlsson, Mr. Skarh\u00e9\u00f0in Magn\u00fasson and many others. There I learned the meaning of Professionalism to the extreme.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMy journey took me to some great companies such as Cargolux in Luxembourg, Direct Maintenance in the Netherlands, Ocean Airlines in Italy and Air Atlanta Icelandic, to name but a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I worked on the small to medium sized aircraft to begin with, such as the Cessna and Piper line up, Twin Otters and Mitshubishi MU2. Later with Cargolux, I got introduced to and fell in love with, the Queen of the skies, the Boeing 747 Classic (-100, -200 and -300) which stayed with me for the next 25 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2007, I said goodbye to my Queen and joined FAI AG in Nuermberg, Germany. With them, I worked on the Learjets and Challengers along with the Bombardier CRJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2015 I had enough of Suitcase Life and went home to Iceland. There I joined Keilir Aviation Academy as a fulltime EASA Part 66 instructor and later migrated for a while to T\u00e6knisk\u00f3linn where I had the same role as with Keilir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now as I find myself on the edge of retirement, I take this time to patch together something that may benefit the Technicians of the future. I hope it will be of some value to you and I encourage you to criticize and comment like crazy.<\/p>\n\n\n
